The Return Of The King

My total expenditure for March was a record: I can’t recall the last time I spent so prudently before. Sadly, it doesn’t look like I will repeat the record this month. It’s only the first few days of April and already I’ve been charging amounts to my credit card. Paid for fit-for-a-king meals at steakhouses on Friday and Saturday and also made some purchases on Saturday. The return of the shopping princess? Perhaps. *Sigh*

The weekend also kicked off the first of seven games in only 22 days for Arsenal. We hosted Sparky’s Man $h*tty on Saturday (ironically, our last defeat, was a 3-0 loss to Man $h*tty on 22 November 2008). And we were indeed bolstered by the return of the heartbeat of Arsenal (and the lord of my heartstrings) i.e. Captain Fabulous, Adebayor and Walcott. Captain Fabulous may have been absent for the past three months but he certainly didn’t look like he was out of practice at all, proving fabulous free-kick and assist that led to both goals (I’m not exactly a big fan of Ade but am happy that he scored) to kill off the game. The Boys Are Back In Town, alright.

So yes, Cesc is back with a bang. And all hail The Return Of The King – or rather the Crown Prince of Wenger Land.

Still more news on Barcelona’s reported interest in Cesc. Wenger seemed unmoved but has banned the Gunners from having contract negotiations until the season is over. As for Cesc, he has reiterated that he will be staying; he has also distanced himself from a summer move.

BBC Sport Player Rater man of the match: Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas 8.21 (on 90 minutes). Even Arshavin’s presence, the player of the month for March, took a backseat to Cesc’s return. The Russian was full of praises for his captain after their first game together.

Definitely a good way to usher in April matches. Happy days mate. And I dreamt of Cesc again. Happy days indeed.

The scorching hot humid weather gave way to torrential downpour yesterday evening forcing an early finish to the Malaysian Grand Prix. Jenson Button triumphed in first place again. C’mon McLaren/Hamilton, get yourselves in the race already!
